Concerns about paypal echeque payments
Hello,
The last $9.97 payment I received from PayPal was an echeque which was unfortunately rejected by the senders bank and cancelled by PayPal.
If someone pays by echeque and I have to wait a few days for the money in the meantime are they allowed to access their product i.e the mysurfbiz success kit?
I now have another pending echeque payment and have been informed by PayPal on December 10th that it could take up to 4 days to clear and to not allow the customer access to their product in the meantime, but again not sure what happens in these situations?

Re: Concerns about paypal echeque payments
hi Neil,
I don't know what you should do. In most cases the payment will clear of course, so I would just let them have it, but it is your personal decision.

Re: Concerns about paypal echeque payments
Hi Nick,
I understand that the MSB system sends a welcome email with login details
when the payment is made to Powers Prosperity. I am not sure whether
that is so when someone pays us directly because my last 2 buyers advised
me they did not receive a welcome email (or maybe it went to their junk
folder and they missed it).
That is why I always send a welcome email to the buyer's PayPal address.
I posted an example here:
https://mysurfbiz.forumotion.com/t153-paypal-dispute#617
With an echeque, you can either wait until it clears to send your welcome email,
or send one to thank them for the payment and that you will be in touch
again as soon as the echeque clears as per PayPal's advice.
Just a thought.
Jude

Re: Concerns about paypal echeque payments
Hi Jude, thanks for your reply,
I had already sent a reply email to the buyers email telling them that they should receive access to the product once their echeque clears but thankyou for confirming that I did the right thing anyway.
I very rarely receive echeques when I sell products and services through PayPal so I was wondering if the buyer can get access to their purchase before their echeque clears or is there something built into the system that stops this from happening?
Kind Regards,
Nick.

Re: Concerns about paypal echeque payments
I'd like to know that too, Nick, so if you find out, let us know.
I'd also like to understand who sends the welcome email when customers
pay us directly - is it from Rick at MSB, or does PaySpree handle that?
